Hi friends, so today's topic is Bhagat Singh so how do I come to this topic? As everybody knows that today is 74th independence day of India and on this occasion to know about our freedom fighter Bhagat Singh is a great pleasure.



So let's get started to know about bhagat singh. In this blog I will tell you 10 interesting facts about bhagat singh.

Fact no.1: Bhagat Singh left home for Kanpur when his parents tried to get him married, saying that if he married in slave india "my bride shall only be death" and joined Hindustan socialist republican association.

Fact no. 2: Although he was Sikh by his birth, he shaved his beard and cut his hair to avoid being recognised and arrested for the killings. He managed to escape from Lahore to Calcutta.

Fact no. 3: One thing which Bhagat Singh often spoke about as a child was about wanting to grow guns in the fields using which the British can be fought against.

Fact no. 4: It was right after the jalianwala bagh massacre. Bhagat Singh was only 12 year old at the time but he bunked school and went to the tragic venue from where he collected a bottle of mud that was wet with indian blood. It's said that he worshipped the bottle everyday.

Fact no. 5: Bhagat Singh, along with his associates, threw bombs in the central assembly, Delhi. The bombs were made of low grade explosives since they were meant to startle and not to injure anyone. Later, a British investigation about the incident confirmed this.

Fact no. 6: During his stay in prison in 1930, Bhagat singh coined the word "political prisoners" and demanded he and his comrades be given basic amenities that even British looters and goons in the jail were entitled to.

Fact no. 7: He was sentenced to be hanged on 24 March 1931, but it was brought forward by 11 hours to 23 March 1931 at 7:30 p.m.

Fact no. 8: Britishers secretly hanged him in the night and burnt him. On the next day which was the actual date of sentence, cruel
Britishers only gave his ashes to his followers and family.

Fact no. 9: Lord Irwin gave chance to get away from the death sentence. Irwin asked to write an apology letter to British government but Bhagat Singh refused. Shockingly Gandhi ji was the middle person in this deal.

Fact no. 10: Mohammad Ali Jinnah finally supported Bhagat Singh. On the hunger strike by the Bhagat Singh in Lahore jail. Jinnah said "the man who goes on hunger strike has a soul. He is moved by his soul and he believes in the Justice of his cause. He is no ordinary criminal, who is guilty of cold blooded, sordid wicked crime."
